missed the first but they didnt look bad in the 2nd and 3rd,
losing Backes didnt help, but no puck luck last night. Gonna happen. Florida is pretty hot right now.
Their hockey team is doing good too |

They never mentioned in last night but where was the instigator penalty on Florida when Backes hit Trocheck? Did they call it? i feel like anytime a Bruin jumps in to protect a teammate this year. It has been instant instigator penalty.
Match penalty on that hit.... Backes said it right after the game. We need our league back. Getting closer and closer to the no check league. |

I'm sure he'll be called delusional again by fans of other franchises. |

Yeah, they gave Matheson an instigator penalty, he got 5, 2, & 10 on that play. He spent most of the second period in the box. Backes had time to adjust and avoid that dangerous hit. I imagine that if it was a Bruin on the receiving end the feelings about the hit in Boston would be different. It looked like he tried to knock him out. The league needs to be more consistent with their calls. After all, they let Hornquist get away with trying to wreck Mcavoy. What is and isn't a penalty changes from game to game and ref to ref. |

This is what most are upset by. Call it by the rules. Yet another Penguin gets to go head hunting without any discipline. While other players from other teams get bans for way less. |

Ok, i wasn't sure about the instigator. I just didn't hear them talk about it. Backes didn't really have that much time to adjust though. A lot of Bruins fans actually said that McAvoy should have had his head up on that hit. I dont think anyone was really up in arms on the non-suspension until Backes got suspended a couple days later.

This is what I have a problem with, Everyone has to stop using Slo-Mo to see what happened, the players dont.
Just no way that's a dirty or dangerous head shot No Fing Way.
But I just don't care anymore the league is run by hypocrites gets worse every game. all we hear is the league is trying to protect it's players, I think its BS they are trying to sell the game anywhere and everywhere, all about the mighty dollar bill |

Trocheck was leaning forward playing the puck, Backes had time to alter the hit. Not saying Backes should've skated past him, but he could've veered more directly into him and just run him over instead of shoulder up near the head. I'm not trying to say I know what Backes was thinking, but, without the benefit of slow motion, it looked like intent to injure. The refs saw it the same way at full speed, they didn't use slow motion replay to make the call. In my honest opinion, it didn't look as bad in slow motion as it did as it happened. |

Yeah I agree. It looked worse at full speed. Just the way Trocheck bounced off of him. |

Backes does have 5" and 40lbs on Trocheck. So of course He's going to bounce when a brick wall hits him at any speed.
